仮定法現在形
形状
仮定法現在形は、'if'節の時制が単純現在形で、主節の時制は単純未来形です。

すべての条件文と同様に、文節の順序は決まっていません。文節の順序を変えると、代名詞を替え句読点を調節しなければならない場合がありますが、意味は同じです。
例
- If it rains, you will get wet.
- You will get wet if it rains.
- If Sally is late again I will be mad.
- I will be mad if Sally is late again.
- If you don't hurry, you will miss the bus.
- You will miss the bus if you don't hurry.

仮定法現在形は、可能な条件に対する可能な結果を述べています。 これらの文章は事実に基き、現実の世界の特定の状況に関して述べるのに使われます。こうした文章は警告を与えるのによく使われます。仮定法現在形では、 現在あるいは未来 を指し、実際の状況を述べます。
例
- If I have time, I'll finish that letter.
- What will you do if you miss the plane?
- Nobody will notice if you make a mistake.
- If you drop that glass, it will break.
- If you don't drop the gun, I'll shoot!
- If you don't leave, I'll call the police.
仮定法現在形の文章は、結果に対する確信、承認や推薦の度合いを表現するために、未来形ではなく叙法を使うこともできます。

- If you drop that glass, it might break.
- I may finish that letter if I have time.
- If he calls you, you should go.
- If you buy my school supplies for me, I will be able to go to the park.
